Dark Money and Dubious Deals: The BlackPAC Connection to Voter Registration Fraud
In a startling revelation, Federal Election Commission (FEC) records have exposed a transaction of $11,254,919 between BlackPAC, a Democratic political action committee, and GBI Strategies LLC, a company under scrutiny for alleged voter registration fraud in Michigan.
BlackPAC, known for its undisclosed contributions, has been a significant player in the political arena, endorsing Democratic candidates and causes. The committee amassed a staggering $44 million during the 2020 election cycle, a portion of which was directed to GBI Strategies LLC for voter registration efforts supporting Joe Biden's presidential campaign.
The Michigan police investigation into GBI Strategies LLC was triggered by an observant Muskegon clerk. On October 8, 2020, the clerk reported witnessing an individual depositing between 8,000 to 10,000 completed voter registration applications at the city office. This individual made multiple subsequent visits, registering an additional 2,500 voters. Alarmingly, a significant number of these registration forms bore identical handwriting, fraudulent addresses, and falsified phone numbers. Discrepancies in signatures, not matching those on record with Michigan's Secretary of State, further raised suspicions.
A raid by Michigan authorities unearthed a trove of questionable items, including pre-paid gift cards, firearms with silencers, and disposable burner phones.
The financial trail doesn't end with BlackPAC. During the 2020 election season, Democratic election committees collectively funneled over $4 million directly to GBI Strategies LLC:
Biden for President: $450,000
Democratic Senatorial Campaign: $2,117,605
DNC Services Corp: $1,031,856
Democratic Party of Iowa: $493,100
Gary Bell, the proprietor of GBI Strategies LLC, has since transitioned to CompMo Group, a Democratic get-out-the-vote organization. Founded by Shaun Kelleher, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Director during the 2020 election cycle, the group boasts of Bell's extensive experience. According to his biography on the CompMo Group's website, Bell has helmed over 70 organizing operations across 20 states, often overseeing vast teams of field managers and canvassers.
It's worth noting that voter registration fraud isn't a new phenomenon, nor is it exclusive to one political party. Organizations from both sides of the aisle have faced accusations of similar illicit activities. A case in point is ACORN, which shuttered its operations in 2010 after being embroiled in a multi-state fraudulent voter registration scandal exposed by James O’Keefe.
The extent to which election fraud influences US elections remains a topic of debate. While isolated incidents have been documented, the systemic impact on election outcomes is yet to be conclusively determined.
