TRUE: the Saudi Public Investment Fund is the sponsor of The Aramco Team Series.
During an interview with Tucker Carlson LIV Golf founder and CEO Greg Norman claimed that for years one of the largest sponsors of the women’s professional golf tour has been Saudi Aramco. His point was that no one is suggesting that the 144 ladies playing in the Aramco Team Series have blood on their hands.
The Ladies European Tour is a joint venture between the LPGA Tour, European Tour, and The R&A.1 The Aramco Team Series is part of the Ladies European Tour and consists of five tournaments in five cities including Bangkok, London, Sotogrande, New York, and Jeddah featuring 144 female golfers.2 The Aramco Team Series is funded entirely by The Public Investment Fund the same sovereign wealth fund of Saudi Arabia that invested in Greg Norman’s LIV Golf Inc.
