"A political party is not a utility. It is an association."
Thank you for saying that Mr. Muse, now let me lead you to the logical conclusion of that statement by asking you a question...can the government force associations upon me, an American, and violate my 1st Amendment Right by doing so?
Let me say it more plainly so even the democrat&republican "Useful Voter" can understand.
Does the democrat&republican government have the constitutional right to force the democrat&republican associations upon an American Citizen?
If you answer no, then you are an American, if you answer yes, then you are a democrat&republican "Useful Voter," too stu-to-the-pid to vote on a ballot that has no d's&r's on it.
Think about that for a moment, the dumbest people in America, the democrat&republican "Useful Voter," voting for the biggest scumbag low-lives in the nation...the democrat&republican politician. Man-o-man are they some S4B moo-rons of the highest order?

I'm from the great, intensely corrupt state of Illinois. We have corruption and 'disenfranchising voters' down to a science. Our open and semi-open primaries ensure Illinois will forever remain blue, even though over 45% of our voters are Republican, a number that is increasing BTW.
Revelations 3:15-16 “I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.” Gregg Abbott—are you listening?
Abbott can’t play innocent here. An open primary isn’t “democracy,” it’s dilution—state-mandated sabotage of party self-government. Political parties are associations, not public utilities, and nominee selection is their core speech. Forcing Republicans to let Democrats help pick Republican candidates is compelled association, plain and simple. That’s how RINOs survive and grassroots voters get sidelined. The Texas GOP voted for closed primaries. The AG agrees. The Secretary of State resists—by Abbott’s leave. That’s a choice. If Abbott won’t defend the party’s First Amendment rights, he’s protecting the establishment, not Republican voters. Call it what it is.
Excellent summary. Gov Abbott has disappointed me again. He is a big talker, little action. I’ll be glad when his term is over. I did not vote for him last time and glad I didn’t. I’ll vote for a strong conservative candidate.
Even lunatic Oregon has no "compelled association".

Open primaries are corrupt and stifle actual good party construction

I am sooo DONE with FAKE Conservatives purporting to be Republicans but are just Democrat lackeys.
We need a complete overhaul:replacement of the Republican Party.
As for the Democrats, they should all be banished to Siberia.
If we cant replace Abbott we get what deserve. 🫤
Not surprised to know Cornyn has Dem donors in favor of open primaries. I’m so hoping Cornyn is replaced with Paxton.

What a terrible mistake.
