The history of slavery in the new world is so much richer than portrayed by the evil slave masters. Books and movies short change the realities.

This is interesting ... One time I had a history class that didn't have a "history book" but instead, we were given lists of readings from the main proponents of a particular time in history ... for example, readings from Galileo and readings from the Catholic Church's theologians. Rather than have a synopsis by a "history-book-writer" to distill and come away with a good-guy versus bad-guy bottom line, we were able to look at both sides of the argument AT THE TIME and understand history in its context at the time. In light of that, AMUSE gives us context on the question of slavery.
