An Appeal to Heaven's avatar

This paragraph right here:

"If the Senate can move mountains when a powerful incumbent’s career is threatened, but cannot do so when the nation’s election laws are at stake, then voters may conclude that the incentives of the institution are misaligned with the needs of the country. The bear trap therefore does not end with the passage of the bill. It ends with the realization that the Senate’s behavior reflects its incentives."

Is absolutely spot on. A simple tweet exposes the true priorities of the Senate as it stands today. Currently, people vote conservative because they fear the actions of the current extreme Left; who actually pass radically un-American legislation.

What people should get with their vote is a representative who enacts legislation that preserves and protects the American idea. Not spineless, self-serving do-nothings.

Ken Paxton just did something Washington hates: he called the bluff. For years, the Senate establishment — led by career insiders like John Cornyn — has talked tough about election integrity while hiding behind procedural excuses. Paxton flipped the table. Pass the SAVE America Act like President Donald Trump has demanded, and prove the Senate actually works for voters — or expose the whole charade. That’s leadership. Paxton is fighting while the old guard dithers. Texas Republicans remember that Cornyn once told Trump to quit the race — and Trump won anyway. The grassroots want fighters, not caretakers of the swamp. Paxton understands the moment.

Like the American people have demanded👍

Gotta love Paxton. He’s the kind of shitkicker we need in this pile of crap that is Congress. Thune and Cornyn both need to go. If Trump endorses Cornyn, it will shake his base when it least needs shaking, it will cost him, and more importantly will cost us!

Paxton’s move is very clever and classy-I’ll step aside for the good of the country. This bear trap analogy is great. I think Trump may just endorse Paxton regardless!

Paxton for the WIN. FucK Cornyn the Rhino.

Paxton may well be a flawed human, as are we all, but he is a smart man with a superior legal mind. I have confidence that he would make a superb Senator.

Jerri Hinojosa's avatar

He may be a flawed human. OR … he may be a victim of the same character assassination drill that Trump has been subjected to.

Lynne Morris's avatar

True. But, IMO, neither discredit his legal chops. He has been a stellar Atyorney General in Texas and confronted the Biden cabal fearlessly. ICBW but I think he might well have the gravitas to get Congress back on track. You know, legislating.

Brilliantly brutal synopsis of Swamp lethargy!

Excellent summary for Paxton’s request. The bear trap analogy well explained and well thought out. Thune and Cornyn can now lead or they can continue to grandstand and gaslight We the People. Do your darn job, or be exposed as the lazy politicians you are.

I loved this. I'm not a Texan, but I vote Ken Paxton. Thank you Mr Muse. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Great piece. Couldn’t agree more- America needs this man.

Thune is there for thune. He could care less about the country. If you can't approve of secure voting, you're a traitor to the nation

Anything to get thune off his dead ass

Methinks that laziness is but part of the explanation of what's going on.

Especially about The Save America Act, what is being exposed is that the election fraud infrastructure across the country is a UniParty supported endeavor. Why do I say that?

Think about it: after the O-Biden importation of millions of illegals + Motor Voter + plus other forms of fraud, the Republican Party faces near-extinction within a few election cycles.

So, it it were actually an opposition party, it would be all over passing The Save America Act on its own, and then begging President Trump to sign it "stat!"

But if several (most?) "Republican" members of Congress are there because of UniParty selection, and installed with fraud, enacting The Save America Act is individual political suicide.

Conversely, if the UniParty fraud infrastructure remains in place, there will still be select "Republicans" allowed to "win," so as to maintain the appearance that we're actually operating in a contesting two-party system resulting from "free and fair elections."

Cui bono?

What I refer to as "The Globalist-CCP Axis."

Jerri Hinojosa's avatar

I’m not sure if I’d go all the way to a globalist CCP axis with you, but I think you’re spot on that Thune’s “oooo, this is just too hard for us” routine is a cover for something more sinister. The GOPe clearly does NOT want clean elections. I also believe Thune is not making his own decisions. I suspect he’s still channeling Mitch McConnell for some reason.

If we look at fund raising, we see Cornyn raised over $7 million and Paxton $1.1 million. It was said by some that Paxton ran a poor campaign. There is nothing poor about his bear trap set. Trump also won with less campaign contributions, campaigning with his populist agenda. Paxton’s bear trap is a populist thing of beauty! Of course the Texas Trib claims Paxton received “dark money.” Hahaha. https://www.texastribune.org/2026/02/20/texas-senate-dark-money-superpacs-talarico-hunt-crockett-paxton-cornyn/

John Wygertz's avatar

Cornyn doesn't care about traps, he cares about the sources of his campaign finance. As long as they're good, he's good.

CStone's avatar

He also does NOT care about voters

John Wygertz's avatar

Has the uniparty ever cared about voters?

Kathleen's avatar

Brilliant analogy. My moneys on Paxton!

Susan Daniels's avatar

Cornyn is a lowly RINO who needs to go, and the sooner the better. He and Thune are holding up the SAVE act to help benefit the Democrat party and the both need to go.

Mary Ann Caton's avatar

And then we need Fetterman to switch parties. I suspect he will.
