Troy Goudy said that years ago. That’s why he got out; couldn’t get anything done!

While I understand the frustration of the House members retiring, I also think they are behaving rather selfishly. That’s not public service. Too many people now view politics as a profession in its own right, instead of a service capable and successful people provide to their fellow citizens.

Public service was never meant to be a lifelong career. It has become a lifelong scam.

So, come Jan 31, 2026 when nothing has happened and none of Trumps appointments are filled, who do we hang?

The House has passed some serious bills, but know the Senate will not. Time to call recess and get recess appointments done. The Senate has dragged out the first year with one bill and few appointments or judgeships. We are tired of their using ‘blue slips’ as an excuse. We are tired if the silent filibuster, at the very least make those who oppose stand up and voice their reasons, or better yet remove the filibuster and get stuff done. No more excuses. Enough already. Thune stop catering to Dems; they sure won’t play nice if/when they are in charge.

It's time to step up, stand tall, and shoulder the responsibility you accepted, Speaker Johnson. Stop enabling the Deep State, and drive a stake through it's heart!

Thank you for this incredible lesson on Constitutional privilege. Thank you for your clear teaching and insight shared. You provided a lesson our Forefathers recognized may be needed one day. Come on Speaker Johnson, step up and lead and not merely be conciliatory. Dr. Lyle - ARIZONA TODAY Program

The recess would be a benefit, just as you describe. But Johnsonn (like Thune) keeps his post by keeping the status quo. It will depend mostly on how he sees his role.

Praying for Speaker Johnson to have the strength and courage to take back the country. This would be the Christmas miracle we need to save the republic.

To paraphrase Judge Chamberlain Haller: “That is a lucid, intelligent, well thought-out argument…overruled.” There is zero chance Johnson grows a pair and does this. Republicans don’t want to be in charge, they want to be in the minority, where you get all of the grift, with none of the responsibility.

Great movie. Don’t want to see it play out here. Call his office! Tell him to put the house in recess and wish him a sincere merry Christmas 🎄!

OMG! A thousand times a thousand times YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!

“ Speaker Johnson now faces a moment of clarity.”

More like he faces a moment of truth:

Are you with us or against us??

We shall see.

Time to call the Republican Congress’s bluff! Go big or Go Home.

Speaker Johnson is looking like the Elf on a Shelf. He needs to get off his butt and take action before Americans give up on Congress altogether.

"Speaker Mike Johnson calls for a congressional recess of at least eleven days."

Does that require a majority vote? Because if it does, then all it will take is Massie and a few other RINOs to side with the Democrats and block it. And we've seen exactly that a couple of times in the past month.

I see our federal government as a totally corrupted institution where it is near impossible for Americans to survive without a will to force those within it to either resign or accept responsibility and I don't see that will. I do see the misnamed Democrat Party members intent with coordinated passion to dismantle our government and transform it into a Socialist hellhole while the so-called Republican Party never, ever stand together and fight with as much passion to thwart their efforts and they advance with every election.

The only solution is to begin governing based upon God's natural and divine laws and thus trust that God will give us all the grace and desire to be responsible, charitable and honest people.
