Nice piece of reporting! To be honest, I've seen the video's of neighbors getting all ticked off screaming about polluting water and making too much noise. I thought they were genuine. Thanks for the heads up. Seem like you can't trust much of anything anymore but I press on.

The Left’s devotion to the entire “green dream” -which is nothing more than pure fantasy- is really astonishing.

You have to wonder why, when absolutely every single aspect of it and by every metric measuring it against its promise and actual reality, exposes what an outright delusional pursuit it is.

And yet, they continue to choose to die on the hill. Utterly baffling, if not downright insane.

They're anti-humanists. The only way we get out of our debt cycles is by dropping the cost of production to as close as zero as possible and computational materials science and computational reform of our statute books are two ways we can rapidly improve in all areas. Add robotics and AI, SMR, Fusion and Hydrogen you can get to a UBI post scarcity future.

Great work. Stay on it.

I was so angry reading about farmers in Matsville, Ky, being lauded for passing up a $26 million bid for 1,000 acres of land by a company wanting to build a data center. An 82 year old mother and her elderly daughter own the land. The mother was quoted as saying, “These people can’t be trusted.” Another resident made the claim that Morrow County, Oregon had high rates of Cancer and Miscarriages due to data centers. Fear mongering, disinformation, and down-right lies are the NGOs most cost effective tools.

Cheap and abundant energy correlates very highly with standards of living. We are facing an aging grid, unreliable intermittents, unrealistic "green" mandates and the premature retirement of reliable baseload power, all of which correlate in turn with more expensive and scarcer electricity. The U.S. needs a major new growth phase of energy supply, and nuclear and natural gas make the most sense from both a cost and environmental impact standpoint.

Premature retirement of reliable energy seems like it has to be deliberately wasteful and destructive, as even in carbon calculations as they perform them, it’s a huge waste of carbon investment.

I think you’re right on all counts, Jennie.

I know the huge increase to NJ utility rates have several reasons. And it is not Data Centers.

1. PSEG (Public Service Electric & Gas, one of the two largest utilities in the state) left the power generation business, with the exception of the 2 nuclear plants in south NJ. They decommissioned and sold their 4 gas/coal powered plants about 5-6 years ago (Linden, Hudson, Burlington, Sewaren). While currently under new ownership, they have not been fully revamped and are not online yet, to my possibly outdated knowledge. I believe PSEG did this for two reasons - the CEO and management are woke, DEI focused, and due to pressure from the state of NJ (under continued Democrat complete control)

2. Carbon taxes imposed and added to the rates caused a nearly three fold increase last year.

3. The imposition by NJ that at least 30%+ of electricity sold in the state MUST be solar or wind generated.

4. Poor planning by PSEG (and other utilities) at the PJM power auction last year.

So there you have it. Death by 1000 cuts promulgated by the UnDemocrat State of NJ and Wokeness.

If Bernie Sanders and AOC are against it, that is enough for me to know it’s the opposite and appropriate to build. China No, USA yes.

I need a TL;DR link to send to about 100 people I know who will not spend time to fully read and understand but really, really need to. The oppo efforts are working on this one - big time!

People are pissed about a lot of things right now and trust level is in the toilet. The timing could not be worse.

Data centers are already obsolete.

The rest is a money play.

They get the money

You get played.

We may rely on the Republicans to be declarative and the Democrats to be active.
