There is VICTORY, or there is a future in which poverty, disease, and death gain ground because we surrendered the tools to fight them. That is how seriously I take America’s AI challenge. Winning must mean breakthroughs that help doctors treat patients, businesses create wealth, and defenders protect the country. I want American ingenuity driving that future, with constitutional liberty guiding its use. Build the power and computing capacity, secure the research, and make developers carry their infrastructure costs. Our ambition should match the stakes. America must lead this technological revolution and make its benefits real in ordinary people’s lives.

Thankyou. Very concerning. Ain’t it !!

Tip of the Proverbial Iceberg.

While we all sleepwalk towards sure annihilation.

The Sheeple, merrily going about, rearranging the Deck Chairs on the Titanic, called America…

Thank you for sharing the essence of Anthropic's report. China is determined, relentless, and completely without qualms. We can't live in a world in which they win the AI race, but we've given them veto power at the local level here.

I can't believe that the Republican candidate for governor in Oregon is running anti-data center ads, but here we are. There's no better indicator that China has won the propaganda war.

The bizarre aspect to that is the Trump administration has already addressed problems related to energy efficiency in Data Center development, yet we hear from candidates on both sides that electric rates will be increasing due to Data Centers. I argue that power rates will be decreasing as Data Centers enlist the ability of modern power cogeneration options to keep their own power use to a minimum, and sell power back to the grid. This is what happens with industrial production in mills of all kinds.

The Trump government has done a lousy job of publicizing their actions, and so-called "Republican" politicians like our gubernatorial candidate in Oregon are as anti-Trump as the Democrats. Until more credible people are willing to report the truth of the current situation, as you did, China will continue to win.

Oregon is a hopeless case. Kids aren’t taught to read in Oregon. Oregon comes in last according to the Urban Institute for fourth grade reading scores, and 49th for eighth grade math. Mississippi who used to rank poorly, now ranks No 1 in fourth grade reading even though funding per pupil in Mississippi is thousands of dollars less per student. Oregon likes their citizens less well educated. Socialism is their goal as we have no real Republican party.

That's why I moved to Central Oregon and joined the Greater Idaho movement (greateridaho.org).

This is absolutely brilliant, but much too technical for the average America. In all of your spare time /sarc/, would it be possible for you to write a shorter, simpler version that we could share? Americans absolutely need to understand this. TIA.

I agree. The text assumes a basic understanding of the meaning of terms like 'models', 'layers', 'distillation', etc. in the AI context (not moonshining or some other field). Some of us need an 'AI for Dummies' book.

Not as bad as trying to figure out why anyone would want to have a mouse on their desk. 😉
