Producers produce for the Academy and the Academy wants LA-centric films that validate the bubble of demonic existence they live, eat, and breathe.

I always wondered how or why they were selected and this article has explained why. Nolan may spend 250 million, but that doesn’t mean it will earn that much. From the lineup, I definitely won’t watch since it’s another big colossal waste.
I recently checked to see what the TV rental charge to 'view' this "Obsession," is it? $19.95! YHGTBSM! I wouldn't pay that for a 'personal screening' that included champagne and a steak meal! Well, o.k., check that, maybe for the steak meal I might. All of these people must be suffering from that TDS disease, and are quite delusional, if not already INSANE!
No thank you. I do not need Homer filtered through Hollywood HR. I do not need classics recast, rewritten, and morally shrink-wrapped for Academy eligibility. Great art is not made by demographic accounting. It is made by genius, discipline, inheritance, reverence, beauty, courage, and truth. If Nolan made a masterpiece, fine. Let it stand on merit. But when the Academy builds identity gates before artistic judgment begins, audiences are right to distrust every casting announcement and every “bold reimagining.” Hollywood already forgot how to tell new stories. Now I remember why I stopped going to the movies years ago—most were mediocre at best. After reading the RAISE requirements, I now have a reason to never go again. Who knew such a thing even existed?
Since BEFORE "2024" Hollywood quit making movies. You know, the kind of movies we once went to see for a little time release from the day to day struggles! As the article states, that DEI nonsense pervades each and every one, and ALL have to be politically correct. I primarily watch the 'Turner Classic Movie' channel (TCM), whenever I need a movie to ENJOY! One simple example, and it will label me a 'racist.' Blacks have stagnated at 12%-13% of the American population, and Latinos now are the second most populace ethnicity @20%+. Nearly every commercial, and current crop of movies, MUST contain at least one black person, i.e., 100% participation, far and above that population number. The Latino participation is at what level? It also adds higher watch ratings if there are LBGTQ++ elements, along with black on white sexual segments! I'm just pointing out facts, and I am far from being racist, having served with, and have friends in that community! "Best Picture?" I couldn't tell you what any of them are over the past two decades. One of "my best pictures," and highly recommend is "The Big Country," 1958, with Gregory Peck, Jean Simmons, Carroll Baker, Burl Ives. and a star studded supporting cast! I coopted Ives' mangling of the word miracle (maricle) when I want to describe the improbable. "President Dwight D. I am disgusted by the DEI gatekeeping requirements that trump artistic integrity and are now necessary to qualify for the Academy Awards. The public criticisms of the casting of The Odyssey is an example of the kinds of judgment filmmakers will be subject to when they feel forced to comply with quotas instead of following their creative discrimination and instincts. I am a 69 year old lifelong 'liberal' and yet I am chagrined that the art I may wish to consume will likely be artificially constrained and reluctantly shaped by such parameters.
I deeply hope that the Academy will reconsider this position and withdraw the RAISE requirements which essentially place artists in a 'between a rock and a hard place' position if they want their creations to be eligible for your rewards. Additionally, this places production companies in a position where they are in conflict with Title VII and can conceivably be legally liable for biased hiring decisions.
Agreed; only the men in this society should start their class-action against the worst travesty of them all, the anti-family courts. while Hollywood sure is complicit in cultural and ideological assault on men and masculinity (as well as a normal, traditional family), let's start with the greatest evil of them all, the divorce/child custody $$$ industry and the anti-family courts.

I’m totally done with Hollywood. I won’t be watching any of the new movies from there. If the actors won’t stand up, I will in their place.
