I want to pick just one point that Leftists repeatedly make about ICE and its enforcement efforts: "They add that federal supremacy would otherwise let ICE trample constitutional rights." ICE agents, like every member of federal law enforcement, have a primary mission that is not fungible or negotiable: each is to enforce the laws within the federal government's policies while reasonably protecting the civil rights of those they contact. It is a fever dream or a consequence of drinking bong water asserting ICE agents are "not trained" or not required to protect the civil rights of detainees, whether illegally present in the US or a citizen who is interfering or obstructing the ICE agents in their duties. There are severe consequences for any law enforcement officer to "trample constitutional rights" that includes professional discipline up to and including termination, criminal charges (up to life imprisonment or even death), and possible fines and imprisonment, as well as the ever present civil penalties if a civil jury renders an adverse judgment.
