The media was complicit in demonizing both HcQ and IVM - both FDA approved drugs with robust safety profiles proven over decades of use, both with anti-viral and anti-inflammatory properties, and were off-patent and inexpensive. The only danger they posed was to big profits for big pharma along with a significant funding source for the FDA since pharmaceutical companies pay the FDA when a new drug or vaccine is approved. If there is an effective treatment, there is no need for a vaccine and doctors were prescribing protocols using one or both and seeing very positive results well before the vaccine was available and neither Paxlovid or Remdesivir would have been necessary. Had the FDA encouraged their use, the pandemic would very likely have ended in 2020.
The media should have repercussions anytime they avoid the truth or blatantly lie. Not a fine, that's too easy. Perhaps a airtime suspension of at least 1 week. Hit them hard
