John Cornyn is a has-been that never was. He's willing to say anything to be elected or to curry favor, and this just shows his defectiveness in high definition. If the family doesn't want to proceed, how in hell does Cornyn think he knows better? The absolute best outcome is Texas voters see him for what he is, losing the comparison bigly when put against Ken Paxton. He should not only be "retired", he should lose his pension. I'm a career prosecutor, retired after 29 years and now in private practice, I agree with Muse wholeheartedly. I'm not fond of Cornyn, but this latest outrage is shameless, vicious demagoguery.
It's a truism that the justice system victimizes rape survivors a second time. But, that's not enough for slimy Cornyn.
Statistics clearly show that outright acquittal--a "Not Guilty" verdict--is far more likely in a second trial after a hung jury. The defense knows all the questions in advance, and especially which cross-examination traumatized the victim effectively in the first grueling ordeal. It's disgusting but a fact of life in our justice system.
Good prosecutors bear the weight of deep compassion for rape survivors. Cornyn doesn't struggle with any such inconvenient moral burdens.
I’m a TX voter and I’ve wanted Cornyn replaced for years. He’s a do-nothing RINO. Voting for Paxton again. Hopefully this run-off election will be Cornyn’s last time on the ballot.

However, even after May 26, 2026 when Texas AG Ken Paxton is declared victorious in the Texas Primary Runoff Senate race - it won’t be over.
I fully expect Cornyn/Thune to punish Texas voters by funneling deep state money into the democrat Tala-freako’s campaign.
If Cornyn came out with a campaign ad holding a puppy in one hand, and a loaded .357 in his other hand threatening the puppy while asking for your vote… I wouldn’t be surprised if they already polled it for political viability.

Why bring this old settled case up now? Why not choose a different attack vector? Why THIS?
Very often the worst offenders accuse others of their own crimes as a defense tactic. Everyone knows this by now. The bad guys accuse the good guys of the bad guys crimes. You have all seen this repeatedly.
Therefore the inescapable conclusion -> This is likely to get ahead of a problem that rhymes with the accusation. Meaning, they know something terrible may come out about Cornyn so they set a team of unethical investigators to find anything even remotely similar they could accuse Paxton of.
I wonder what Cornyn has hidden deep in his closets?
Could there be an obscure paper trail (held by his handlers) detailing decades of some absolutely horrible behavior? (the swamp calls this his "control file")
He has shown his cards here. Laid them out for everyone to see. You just need open eyes to recognize it. Maybe it's time for the public to find out what he has been hiding?

The agency should be called Child Defective Services. They protect no child. They brainwash them. I had a case where several women convinced a ten-year-old that her father molested her. It was a lie, and she told me the truth. Her father was released from jail. In Cleveland, a social worker noted in her records that she visited a family every week. The child she claimed to have seen had been buried in the backyard for three years. The SW went to jail.
Cornyn's career should have been cut short a long time ago. He is disgraceful. And his using this case adds to that disgrace. He is exactly that type of person who should not be the US Senate.
