When Cornyn wrote this laughable piece of whining garbage, he offered the very proof of why those of us with a brain did not vote for him. He was, is, and will always be the perfect RINO. Good riddance! And Paxton will demolish another phony in November.

Cornyn, Cassidy, and Thune. Peas in a pod.

Don’t forget the “dishonorable” Tillis!

Yes, there are more names to add but I was going for the poetry.

💯 probably 25-30 GOP sens fit the bill.

We'll get ‘em all, eventually.

‘closed primaries make Republican senators answerable to Republicans’

This is the only way a primary should function. Period.

Cornyn’s tired excuse is so obvious. He’s pi$$ed he didn’t have his Dem voters to support his run. Good riddance to Cornyn, Cassidy, Tillis. Now to get Thune, Murkowski, Collins, Barrasso, Capito, and a few others replaced with a true conservative.

John Cornyn is the problem, especially if only 7% come out to vote. Dems should only vote Dem primary. GOP only Repub primary. Anything else is swaying and coercing the vote.

That's not his point. It deprived the voters of being able to vote for him. That was the true horror of it in his mind. That was his point.

Excellent piece! Cornyn, Cassidy, Thune are the type of Republicans who've been the same since the 70s. That perfect hair, overconfident, annoying car salesman type that would tell you what you wanted to hear, then tell you why it's not possible we he gets in office. Bleck.

Thank you for the clear explanation.

Nobody hates Cornyn as much as I hate Cornyn. I hate him as much as I hate Tillis. If wishes were horses beggars would ride. And those two assholes would drop dead.

In 2022, two years after being reelected, Sen Cornyn worked on the anti-2A “Bipartisan Safer Communities Act” - i.e. red flag laws - and was one of 15 Rinos joining democrats to get it passed and sent to Auto Pen’s desk for signature.

For 2026, Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett called her democrat senate bid against James Talarico “a racist race”, and Sen Cornyn her “best partner.”

Cornyn outspent Paxton like crazy and still lost. Lt Gov Patrick called Cornyn “a sore loser.”

Obviously, it was the sense of entitlement filling Cornyn’s head that prevented his ears from hearing the incessant booing of him at the last two Republican State Conventions.

What still infuriates me is upwards of $100 million going to Cornyn from GOP Central.

What business do they have using up all of that money on a Republican vs. Republican primary? Aren't the voters supposed to decide, and donate themselves to their candidate of choice if they wish? Their answer, of course, is that they say they know best who can defeat the Democratic opponent. Wrong again.

Yeah, it must have cost quite a lot for 99% MAGA John Wayne McCornyn to procure a Border Guard bass boat to race up and down the Rio Grande with the wind and sun in his face and his ball-cap turned tactically backwards…

I am soooo looking forward to Sen Ken Paxton’s term!

Thank you for an excellent article Mr Muse! Open primaries are ALWAYS bad and only preferred by RINOs and Democrats and people who don’t understand!
