I like that Alaska has developed its own unique system to verify eligibility for the annual money it pays people. The original documents requirement is a good way to do it. The US government uses original documents to issue passports by mail. It can be done.
I believe we need to update the Real ID law to force a delineation of citizen vs noncitizen on the face of the ID.

You are factually correct, but also give the senior senator from Alaska WAY too much credit. Her track record reeks of RINO swamp denizen, so anything she does, which runs counter to what the VAST majority of America wants, is simply her MO (see her stance on ranked choice voting as a prime example).
Murkowski would not even be a Senator if her father had not dropped out of the Senate to become the Governor of Alaska and then appointed his daughter to his seat.

i got a real ID from CA when I returned after 30 years in AK. I had to bring my birth certificate to get that. CA could not find my previous license records, clear back to 1970 (with 3 last names, and my current last name is the same as the one I had in '82. There were no real ID's when I left AK.....but with my military spouse ID, AK had given me a license and took my CA license. Not sure is military ID for spouse required my birth certificate, but I think it did. I was born in CA

She doesn’t want the SAVE Act passed. Mail in ballots without safeguards and ranked choice voting are her tickets to reelection.
