If the flip-flopped Never-Trumper, Peter Thiel rent-boy JD Vance is the future of the GOP, then the GOP has no future. He is a fully manufactured corporate product. A mannikin trained to speak “working-man-ese”. So in that sense yes. a perfect sequel to Trump.
Gee, as usual, I agree with you 100%. “Little Marco” has acquitted himself admirably, DeSantis is formidable, but Vance is the number one choice. Marco has a constitutional qualification issue, DeSantis pooped his mess kit by challenging Trump, and our problem is the Republican Party, a shithouse of dysfunction, not to mention an electorate littered with stupid people, and election processes that are still corrupt and unreliable. What a bench the good guys have! The Democrats embarrass themselves every time one of them opens his or Her mouth. But then…stupid people. I hope I do not live long enough to have to kill anyone else to preserve America.
Greg Abbott is and has been a weak governor for Texas. He has allowed too many mosques in too many areas. He has not put forth a ban of sharia law. He’s an establishment GOP. No way will he be electable.
It's too early to determine who might best continue President Trump's America First policies. The President is re-industrializing America, and he is remaking the geo-political and economic structure of the world, with America as the focus—not 'the Globe'. Which of those three you name, or any others, have the smarts and the chutzpah to keep it going, and not fall back into comfortable Wall-Street bean-counting and sentimental one-world Globalism? I'm not sure DeSantis gets it, nor Vance; maybe Rubio does. Without a third term for President Trump, can it all continue?
Rubio will be a great Secretary of State—and likely a very wealthy man in the private sector when this chapter ends. That’s not a knock; that’s the cycle. Unless Trump taps him to run, Rubio’s role is executor, not heir. The base sees it. Vance is different—he’s not implementing MAGA, he is MAGA. That matters in a primary. DeSantis can govern, Rubio can negotiate, but Vance carries the ideological DNA forward without translation. And movements don’t hand power to question marks. As it stands today, the deal is clear: finish strong under Trump, then pass the torch to Vance in 2028.
Absolutely true. MAGA is passionately American. Rubio is loyal and I am looking forward to his negotiations when Cuba falls, but J.D’d ability to express the essence of Americanism through Constitutional Conservatism is outstanding. J.D. has the gift of communication that is akin to the Great Communicator Ronald Reagan. You can share the same vision, but if you can’t communicate it so voters feel connected, they will not be moved to vote. Rubio has the challenge of growing his popularity beyond Florida. J.D. is recognizable for his current work nationally. Vance is my favorite.
What I see is that Vance would make the best candidate, but DeSantis would make a better president. Rubio's strong advocacy of amnesty as a senator disqualifies him in my eyes. At least, unlike the Democrats, we'll have a real primary.
Anyway, despite the detractors in the comments, I agree with you. If we push Vance aside because he knows Peter Thiel or because Thiel has funded him, we will lose future elections. Vance is unbeatable and will wipe the floor with any Democrat. I believe he will carry on with the agenda. He couldn't do worse than Trump on the H1B visa issue and I am hoping he will do better. He may like Indian people - I have known many and like them, too - but that doesn't mean he wants to displace Americans from the workforce. Trump comes from money and it sometimes shows, although he works very hard for us 90% of the time; Vance comes from American soil. He knows Peter Thiel, but he is not of the ruling class. He is our own.

It’s a luxury of riches, the likes of which I haven’t previously seen in my adultness.

I agree. Rubio either the VP, or keep on keeping on as Sec o’ State.
smart article
I don’t think so.
Marco Rubio is FORMIDABLE.
I am amazed at how much he has grown as a leader in the last 10 years.
I like JD but he has a long way to go.
Love Marco Rubio.

Vance: I was MAGA when MAGA wasn’t cool. 😂

Conservatives are fortunate to be discussing 3 admirable candidates for President. At this point, I would cast my vote for J.D.
I will never forget: "Do you hear yourself, Margaret?" Vance will be 48.
I read yesterday on Substack that Vance doesn’t want to run for president in 2028
