A military firing squad for a crime on a military base is appropriate.

Many years ago 46 to be exact I had an interesting lecture of sorts in New Mexico at an old museum with the curator . He grew up in the area and as a boy saw the execution ( botched ) of “ Black Jack “ Ketchum a local bandit + bank + train robber . He was 9 years old and with his dad went to the public hanging event in 1909 . He said that day he knew he would grow up to be a good person because he saw what happens when you’re not ! Public executions are not an entertainment event they should serve as a lesson to those who commit the most heinous acts against society like , murder , Treason , rape of children + women , torture or trafficking of humans . Those are crimes against humanity and deserve justice, not a circus !

Excellent response. A great way to learn cause and effect.

Should have continued on as a reminder to sub-70 IQ actors of the possible consequences. The progressives have buried the visuals thus no reminders to the attention deficient perps.

In this day of social media instantaneously, I think the execution should be public, but not broadcast. Now days Broadcast devalues it to appear like entertainment ( I also abhor pandering ‘entertainment’ violence, which is really psychological desensitizing (or ‘desensitization’) of a human mind and soul and, by proportion, to a whole CULTURE!!! That is reducing us to animals.

Unfortunately, Mr Hart, today everything has the potential of becoming a circus. There is a certain percentage of humanity that needs a circus to speak to their insensitivity. What it tells the rest of us is who these people are.

True Martha , it all starts with learning Respect in God , Family + Community !

Really, really good piece on the scheduled public execution of this Muslim terrorist. (I use that term deliberately to contrast with the mayor of NYCs squishiness.) Thanks for the analysis. I am a proponent of the death penalty but was concerned about this execution being a public spectacle. Well for Americans. I want it to be a public message for those who would act as he did.

Yes! This tells the soldiers, “We have your back.” If someone, either from outside, or from within the ranks kills any of you, he or she will be executed publicly.

I was initially opposed to the live stream but now I'm rethinking that stance. It certainly helps avoid cover-up by the state and forces all to acknowledge the reality of execution. I am concerned about misuse on the internet and the possibility of Ft Hood becoming a shrine.

they have done nothing to the Islamists who live streamed the Holocaust of October 7 2023! If we dont want to watch it we wont, but you have no right to deny us the option!

I agree that government shouldn’t hide its gravest acts behind a curtain and ask citizens to trust the official account. That's what Barack Hussein Obama did when SEAL Team Six got Osama Bin Laden, and there are still conspiracy theories that he's a CIA asset, alive and well, and living in California. Show me the body. Hasan’s victims deserve justice, and the public deserves an honest record of how the sentence is carried out.

Then we should live stream every execution the way they do in Iran.

Great idea Susan.

There is a huge difference between secrecy and live streamed.

Why aren't we considering a middle ground?

Why are we basing our choices on the criminals mentality?

Can we do better?
