We, the voters, can simply decide to, persistently & consistently, vote the RINOs out of the Senate & House in favour of Non-Dim America First candidates. Our goal should be to make RINOs extinct in government. To do that we must research the Non-Dim candidates for their actions. We must put America First over our own selfish interests & elect quality politicians who do the same. We must vote persistently & consistently in our elections.
Valid and accurate statement, Lorna. Problem remains, using a broken election system to vote out the dead wood. It's a steep hill to climb since we allowed our voice at the ballot box be centralized and controlled by the very people we want out of office.
The problem is that mainstream media is a tool of the political left dispensing propaganda for the Socialist Democratβs agenda. Election integrity needs updating with the SAVE Act, we need a true census and fraud cleaned up. We are on the right path.
I have called Thune's office a few times but I am going to put him on a weekly call list using Alexanders last paragraph as my template. I plan to add that he stop gaveling the Senate into pro forma sessions and allow Trump to make recess appointments. It is my birthday today and I have asked my children to vote Paxton ect. today and to make a weekly call to Thune and Cruz (my senator) "in lieu of gifts". It may not help but a barrage of calls can't hurt. At least it will annoy them. Only takes a minute. Maybe everyone here add them to your to do list.
I do feel that we are actually farther from the vote now that Cassidy and hopefully Cornyn are primarried and bitter at losing their entitlements. Cornyn wouldn't or couldn't move the Senate to pass the Save Act even to save his seat. Now he and Cassidy, and Tillis have nothing to lose going on record against it. They can't be shamed because they have no shame. I keep thinking the only way to reach them is to threaten their legacy. My mind goes to Alinsky and ridicule. They are behaving like 8th grade mean girls and need to be portrayed as such. Weak impotent adolescent girly men. I do not know how to accomplish this, any ideas?
Perhaps a very efficient way to collapse the Uniparty stronghold would be to institute a method to recall federal reps. I cannot believe it is impossible for the 50 states to enact state constitutional provisions for removing those THEY HAVE ELECTED for violation of their sacred oaths. When all polling shows at least 75% of America favors Voter ID Law, any and all reps NOT DEMANDING IT are in violation of their oath of office and SHOULD BE subject to recall removal by their constituents.
Thank you AmuseX! Its been so frustrating see this arguments on X about how Vance needs to just take over. If that was ever a possible option it would have happened long before now. Its all mindless wishful thinking on the part of some within MAGA who are justifiably frustrated but who also aren't thinking but emotionally reacting.
What Senate leader Thune can do and has not along with firing the unpopular and almost RINO like parliamentarian is threaten committee chair removals, except where required by law, of those Senators like Murkowski, McConnel and Collins (not so much Tillis since he's leaving anyway) for being difficult in the way they have. f they believe so dearly in the filibuster than let them pay for that with their committees.
Major legislation should be packaged and voted as single issue bills. The Save America Act stalls because itβs not βjust about voter IDβ but it should be.
Iβve always blamed Thune as the problem. Heβs no leader. Heβs been there long enough to know how to sway, if he had the desire. If not, then heβs no leader and needs replaced.
Thune is a #Uniparty Senator, he's doing exactly as his masters tell him to do. B/C of corruption/penetration its very difficult for anyone who is not a "Team player" to get enough votes for Senate leader which is why the MAGA revolt has to be about more than just the right president but the right leadership in both houses and that's going to require the purge of the political cartel that has kept a lock on American governance for generations.
It will require that Republicans stop voting for those party leaderships promote sin most races b/c most they promote are other "team players". It's a club that none of us peasants are members of and they keep it that way as best as they can. In the Senate they don't need to control all 100 Senators just enough in each party to control that party. At first Trump had a lot of anti-Trumpers in Congress b/c he wasn't a "team player" he wasn't a part of the political cartel but his popularity, charisma and the fact he's got his own wealth meant he was able to over come all the hurdles and gate keeping mechanisms the political cartel have erected to keep out the non-desirable's.
Who better represents America? 100 people who have 7figure+ net worth's and most of whom have never had to budget anything in their personal lives and many of whom are career politicians ( many of whom have dual passports ) or a collection of every day average people w/o such net worth's who do have to budget every month within their own personal lives? The later better represent the rest of us but the former are better for those with wealth and power. The founding fathers started off a good thing and the wealthy elite slowly infiltrated and took over across many generations until thy had full control.
Thank you for the information on this. If Cornyn loses his primary today (let us hope and pray!) we are a step closer...and maybe additional human obstacles, including some Dems, will take note and stand up for this common sense legislation which has broad appeal across partisan lines among the people, if not among the politicians. My two Senators are Democrats and I have emailed them both, not that there is any evidence they care what their Republican constituents think. We can imagine that they care about keeping their seats, though!
Yes and no. If Thune exists they'll simply elect another #Uniparty yes man who will do more of the same b/c the corrupt #Uniparty controls enough of the Senate in both parties to control who gets to be leader,
When things were looking dodgy for Trump in the Fall of 2016, I thought it would probably be unwise to underestimate him, after what he had already survived (little did we know then!) When things were looking bleak for Elon Musk to acquire Twitter, I similarly considered, best not to bet against this man. I do not doubt that there is a Uniparty cabal; but the people are increasingly wise to it, and have unprecedented means to communicate, and to also see what is being communicated on the other side.
Which is why they've spent the last few years trying very hard to find some way to lock down the internet either via censorship and or access control via ID. This BS about requiring ID for access to audit sites has nothing to do with protecting kids. It is about opening that door just a tad so later on it can be pushed open further. Today its adult sites, tomorrow it will be any/all commerce sites and one day it will be everything. Its about slowly shifting societal norms in small enough arguable steps of compromise. Who wants to say no to requiring ID to access adult sites to protect kids?
We got to where its considered acceptable by many for men to participate in women's sports/spaces and for drag queen story time for kids not via one big move but many small compromising changes over time that individually seem harmless and are such that if you draw a line in the sand and say NO they make you seem like the bully unwilling to find some middle ground. Its highly effective and been use by so many for so long it even has a name. Incrementalism and Gradualism are both used within political circles to refer to this tactic.
Feminism started out as being about equality and with enough time and changes today its now DEI; we've gone from equal treatment to equitable outcome. Same method was used to shift American governance from a Representative Republic with very limited powers to the monster it is today.
Agree completely! It has taken decades to get where we are; but some recent brilliant, and some courageous moves are swinging the pendulum back before our eyes. Ken Paxton saying he will drop out if Cornyn gets the SAVE act passed. (Actually he only said he would think about it, which accomplished exactly the same thing.) Spencer Pratt in LA. Blacks for Trump. Nick Shirley for heaven's sake; one guy with a microphone and a camera. They pushed too far too fast with all of the nonsense you list (and much more)...and awoke the sleeping multitudes.
YES. Thank you for laying out the FACTS, Alex.

Our elections are very broken. We the People no longer have control over the entire process.
The problem is that mainstream media is a tool of the political left dispensing propaganda for the Socialist Democratβs agenda. Election integrity needs updating with the SAVE Act, we need a true census and fraud cleaned up. We are on the right path.
Well said. I agree with you.
This is informative, true and the world doesnβt careβ¦ nor a growing number of Americans.
This was a good read
Thank you for this clear explanation of the current situation. This is not obvious to the average John Q. Public American.
What a clear and excellent essay, sir. Thank you.

No ideas for you Sara, but happy Birthday! Make those calls!

Not only is the gavel decorative, we have three office placeholders, NONE of which has been directly elected by the people.
Somone ring down for Leadership, please.
Letβs start at the beginning. As President of the Senate, couldnβt JD insist on the Senate NOT recessing??
Your article is an excellent discussion if the VPs limitations.
But he is not powerless.

Thune is a cheap 'clone' of the Turtle - Mitch McConnell - pure and simple!

You might be right but I hope not. Things we thought could never happen, have happened in recent years. The electorate is shifting.
I would LOVE to be wrong on this!
When things were looking dodgy for Trump in the Fall of 2016, I thought it would probably be unwise to underestimate him, after what he had already survived (little did we know then!)
