If you followed the trial, you know she was simply convicted of lying to her staff and the Secretary of State. Absolutely no harm was done to anyone other than the heavy handed treatment of her staff by the prosecutor who made threats of prison to obtain their testimony as to the deception that had to happen in order to fulfill her duties. No election law of the time was violated. It is an angering travesty of Justice.
If I follow correctly Clerk Peters was following law by making the back-up copy of the election before 'maintenance' was performed to the computers. By doing so she was able to capture the manipulation of votes in action.
Her case shows the outright fraud perpetrated at the highest levels in this country. In my county, no one is allowed access to the the tabulator or software. The county purchases these from HART Intercivic, or perhaps it should be considered a lease, but has no authority over them.
That said, the sentencing judge for Ms. Peters far exceeded the penalty standards for the alleged crime. Ms. peters defense could not make their case due to sustained objections by the judge. I have seen the same in my state. Our judge had no comprehension of the technicalities of software or hardware. All she knew is couldn't side with defense.
Long ago I stopped stating the case for election fraud and began asking defenders of the results to prove to me the results are accurate. They can't. Anonymous ballots mean nothing.
Not to mention she is a gold star mother and over 70 years old. The first step act should have already allowed her to be released to home confinement if necessary.
Thankyou Sir. I have followed this case and it reeked of retaliation for shining the light of day on Federal election fraud, something that is now rampant is certain states. I hope the President will take action to pardon Ms. Peters. This is but one of several areas where states and rogue (or paid) judges, seem to have ignored the Constitution.
In so doing, maybe we can also begin to correct the brazen cheating that is making a mockery of the Electoral process and depriving American citizens of a fair voice in electing the leader of this country.

A pardon is needed for justice. Such a harsh sentence shows the political bias.
