If they cannot garner enough support from private citizens giving their own money to causes they care about, then perhaps the NGOs should scale their activities to the support they actually have. The one point I disagree with is data centers being mashed in with other manipulated protests. People in communities are asking, where will all the water come from? And the energy? How will the people in our communities be affected by these massive structures? Are they being built on arable land? Etc. These are important questions. Local governments are making agreements to build these without including their constituents in the decision making process. Why are they doing this secretly, and presenting data center plans as a done deal? Are local politicians being paid? If so, by whom?
For the last five years I’ve been reading Jay Valentine and others saying that data centers are old technology and unnecessary, that everything they do can be done by fractal computing at a tiny fraction of the energy cost, running from a computer operating on the energy from a normal household plug.
